Paul Tylak
Paul will be a special guest at “At Last, The 1989 Show!” on December 13th in MB Slattery’s, Rathmines .
Paul Tylak, was, with Paul Woodfull, creator, writer, and co-star of the IFTA (Irish Film And Television Award)winning sketch series “STEW”, and he’s just finished playing “McCarticus” on the CD of the smash-hit Comedy Opera “I KEANO”(out now in all good disc shops).
Paul still harps on about his miniscule role in “The Name of The Father”, and two briefer-than-brief appearances in “Father Ted”, which all happened years ago. A core member of the Irish Improv, he’s never slow to mention he’s performed with cast members of The Simpsons, The Drew Carey Show, Saturday Night Live, and Who’s line is it Anyway?
As a disembodied voice, Paul also does most of the characters on the hit BBC martial arts cartoon, Skunk Fu, and the recent 3D animation movie and TV series “The Ugly Duckling and Me”. Here’s what the critics said about STEW:
“Stew is that rarest of beasts, a very funny Irish comedy show”-Paul Whitington, Irish Independent.
“A deliciously deranged slice of surrealism…there are some sublime flashes of genius in Stew”-Ian O’Doherty, Irish Independent.
“Stew offers a substantial repast for starving Irish comedy fans…by crediting it’s audience with working brains, it carves out the freedom to play for bigger and better laughs”-Liam Fay, Sunday Times.
Currently rabbiting on about his recent tiny role in “Prosperity” (RTE2), Paul can also be found standing up in his natural habitat, the standup comedy clubs of Ireland and the UK.
Oh look, more quotes:
“Tylak is possessed of a mercurial versatility…or else he’s just possessed”-Theo Dorgan, The Arts Show.
“Tylak is, arguably, the most naturally talented character-comedian Ireland has ever produced…a one-man Fast Show”-Brian Boyd, The Irish Times.
Go and see him live, it’s the only way to fully appreciate the true depth of the man’s innate idiocy.
